LIFT 2006 - 7-я Международная выставка лифтов, компонентов и принадлежностей к ним

Выставка лифтов, комплектующих и аксессуаров к ним, а также прессы и услуг, связанных с подъемным оборудованием. Выставка проводится 1 раз в 2 года.

Событие планировалось провести в марте 2006 года в Милане одновременно с SICUREZZA 2006 - ведущей итальянской выставкой систем безопасности. Однако 26 октября 2005 года объявлено о переносе сроков проведения выставки на 8-11 ноября 2006 года (пресс-релиз см. ниже).

Выставки пройдут в Милане - крупнейшем культурном и торговом центре, богатом историческими достопримечательностями. Здесь посетители смогут ознакомиться со знаменитыми памятниками Средних веков и эпохи Возрождения, а также посетить многочисленные магазины и бутики известнейших итальянских фирм и сделать выгодные покупки.

Предполагается участие почти 2500 компаний (в основном мелких и средних), составляющих костяк европейского рынка. Заявки принимаются до 15 октября 2005 года и к декабрю будет определено расположение стендов.

В каждой выставке Lift существенно представлен международный рынок. Но итальянские фирмы, безусловно, доминируют в выставочных залах. И в этом нет национального подтекста: причиной служит наличие в Италии 800 тысяч лифтов и более двух тысяч компаний, работающих в этом секторе рынка, что выводит страну в лидеры лифтовой отрасли. Поэтому неудивительно, что эта проводящаяся в Италии выставка раз за разом становится все более представительной и наиболее конкурентной на данном рынке. Как известно, лифт является самым безопасным средством транспорта в части рабочей безопасности и качества предоставляемых услуг. Тем не менее, на каждой выставке Lift запланирован ряд культурных и научных мероприятий, посвященных безопасности. Уже сейчас можно предсказать успех предстоящей выставки.

Многие крупные международные компании заявили о своем участии в ней еще до начала маркетинговой компании по привлечению участников. Ее масштаб будет более значительным за счет большого потенциала новых площадей Fiera Milano, где фирмам-экспонентам будет предоставлено необходимое оборудование и помощь, которую не предоставляют другие европейские выставочные центры. В частности, это принадлежности для потолочного крепления осветительных систем, оптико-волоконная связь для быстрого подключения к интернету на каждом стенде, современные системы видеонаблюдения, удобная автостоянка с легким доступом участников к их стендам.

Кроме того, к зданию Выставочного Центра ведет непосредственно из центра города линия метро. Для уведомления о новых возможностях нового выставочного центра организаторы выставки развернули беспрецедентную рекламную кампанию, привлекая наиболее известные в этом секторе итальянские и европейские ассоциации.

The Milanese vertical transport exhibition changes date for the 2006 edition

The ministerial decree on lifts arrives and Lift moves to November (8th-11th)

We have been waiting for it for years and it is finally here: the ministerial decree of 26th October 2005, published in the Official Gazette on 14th November, reopens the Italian market, which can be considered the most important in the world from many points of view. In fact, this decree makes it necessary to bring Italian lift installations into line with the EN 81-80 safety standard.

Because of this, catering for express requests from the main companies that had already signed up for Lift in March, Fiera Milano International, in agreement with Fiera Milano SpA, has decided to schedule lift 2006 a couple of months later than usual, meaning that it will be held from 8th to 11th November 2006, in the Milan exhibition centre as usual.

We asked Costantino Cutroneo, the exhibition director: why did you feel the need to switch the date given that the ministerial decree has already been approved?

The ministerial decree has been approved – replies Cutroneo – but not all the conditions are in place yet for it to be feasible. Just think that the decree itself states that “… within sixty days from this decree coming into effect, … the methods for carrying out inspections and the general criteria for modifications [are defined] …”. If everything goes to plan, the first inspections could get underway in mid January. However, by adapting the Italian situation to European regulations, the decree itself specifies that the risk analysis must be carried out by subjects responsible for periodical checks, which shall make use of technicians with, amongst other things … “a degree in engineering, registered in the relative professional register and with at least two years specific experience”. These requirements are technically incompatible with the existing situation, where experience largely prevails over professional and educational qualifications. In fact, there are so few technical personnel with these qualifications that it would not only be impossible to carry out the inspections within the four years provided for by the decree, but even within eight or ten years.

.. are you therefore worried that the situation will still be so unclear in mid March that it could paralyse the market?

Exactly. We are not worried about it, we are convinced that this is the case. When speaking with exhibitors, they have begged us to prevent such a significant opportunity becoming a trap or a mirage, with the trade fair being held at such a potentially important time but with visitors who are window shopping and not actually buying…

However, the fair will not be held alongside Sicurezza, which was something you counted on…

This is true and we are very sorry about it. In fact, we are aware that a certain number of visitors to Sicurezza also used to visit Lift too. However, we preferred to ensure good business for exhibitors, and the exhibitors themselves recommended that we move the fair to November. Moreover, Ramadan will have been over for some time at the beginning of November and we can therefore bring Arab buyers to Milan without problems, who are expected to provide particularly good business for European exhibitors.

Will Lift 2006 be a mainly European event?

Generally speaking I should say yes. The technology and the extent of the offer mean that European exhibitors will prevail at Lift. However, in some sectors, such as doors and control panels, we have also received a fairly large number of applications from Turkish and Asian exhibitors over the last couple of months, and also from “new EU countries”, such as Slovenia, Eastern European Countries and Croatia, attracted by the expansion of the Italian market over recent years.

… It is rumoured that door manufacturers are planning to “boycott” Milan, which is seen to be too expensive…

We are aware of this. However, this attitude was taken before the news came out about the decree and therefore before they were aware of the significant market opportunities that are being created in Italy. In the light of this, Italy, which is the world leader when it comes to lifts, will actually paradoxically resemble a developing country over the coming years, with the arrival of manufacturers from all over the world, hoping to carve out a niche for themselves. In many cases, these manufacturers will surprise us, not just because of their commercial determination, but also because of the quality of the technology they propose. In reality, we hope that this date change will generate a far bigger fair than the one we held in March, even if it will probably be a very different fair from that foreseen because of the aforementioned reasons.

Will you overlook the “cultural” side, given that the safety conference that Lift placed so much importance on during the last edition, has been rendered obsolete by the new situation?

Not at all. We will be continuing along this road which began so successfully. Lift aims to be an “intelligent fair”, because this “intelligence” is good for business. It is certainly not insignificant that the undersecretary, Valducci, finally mentioned a decree ready for signing at the Lift 2004 conference, before an extraordinary audience in terms of size and quality. We are sure that conferences of this kind, which are rich in technical messages and market “motivation”, go well beyond mere information. We are also thinking of holding a major conference in March, so as not to miss out on the air of expectation that has been created on the market regarding Lift’s role as a significant business event.
